OUR PLEDGE
Jersey Seafaris is proud to announce that we are CARBON NEUTRAL from 2021 onwards. We balance the emissions from every litre of fuel used.
Rewild Carbon is Durrell's IMPACTFUL NATURE BASED SOLUTION.
The programme reduces carbon in the atmosphere by rewilding threatened ecosystems which are rich in wildlife. We have donated to the programme each year from 2021 to 2023.
Jersey Seafaris investment in Rewild Carbon will do so much more than just balancing our carbon footprint. It’s also about reviving ecosystems, recovering species, and rebuilding livelihoods. Through our partnership with Durrell it means that we are investing in one of the most precious ecosystems on the planet and the many animals and communities that flourish there.
THE WISE SCHEME
The WiSe Scheme is about watching marine wildlife the wildlife-safe way.
The waters around Jersey are home to a fantastic variety of marine wildlife, whether visible from the shore or from a boat. However, these wild animals are vulnerable to disturbance if not encountered in a manner that respects their wild nature.
Seafari staff have undergone Wildlife Safe training and follow the observing wildlife code. WiSe is a Training and Accreditation scheme aimed at operators of passenger pleasure craft, wildlife cruise operators, dive boats and charter yachts, who may come into contact with marine wildlife such as whales, dolphins, basking sharks or seals.
Training consists of instruction into how to best view these creatures, whilst at the same time minimising disturbance to them.
What can you do?
Reduce single use plastic if you bring a picnic / drinks.
Clean your own rubbish: Leave only footprints.
Bring your own ‘mug’ to The 3 Arches for a 5% discount
Beach Clean - pick up any rubbish you see on a Seafari and give to crew to dispose of.
